About me

Hello! I’m Gabi the Shrink, or if you prefer something more formal, I am Gabriela Pirralho, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I help individuals and couples expand their “behavioral tool box” when dealing with life’s and relationships’ stressors. My clients are individuals and couples who are committed to making positive changes in their lives, and might need some help achieving their personal goals. I help clients explore their own values and strengths, support them through their healing and growth process, and expand their self-awareness.

Background

I’m originally from Brazil! I lived for twenty years in the Evergreen state, but now I’m at home in the Lonestar state. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s in Social Work with specialization in mental health, both from the University of Washington. I am licensed both in Washington State and Texas. I worked three years in community mental health, both at DESC and Harborview. I bring not only experience, but also genuine enthusiasm, compassion, a willing ear and a sense of humor to my practice (in case you didn’t notice in the name). I have worked with adults from all walks of life, and I am trained in several evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, CBT-p, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and CETA. My initial training in Brazil was in psychodynamic therapy, so I also have a humanistic and existential touch to my practice. I am fluent in English, Portuguese and Geek (yep, without the ‘R’).

I have three pets…

You might see them around!

(Don’t worry, they’ve been through HIPAA compliance training)
